CEDARVILLE, Mass., October XX, 2007 – Paul and Janice Boyle of Plymouth, Mass., are the winners of a four-day, three-night trip to London in a contest drawing sponsored by Carlsberg Brewing and distributor L. Knife exclusively for patrons of the seven British Beer Company pubs. “We’d just returned from a trip to Ireland, where we’d had a chance to drink a few pints of Carlsberg. We stopped in at the BBC for lunch and saw that they had Carlsberg on tap, so decided to order some as a reminder of our trip. We filled the contest entry form out on a whim and never thought we’d win,” said The Boyles. Paul Boyle is an officer with the Plymouth Police Department and a piper with the Boston Police Gaelic Column bagpipe band. During his military service n the 1980s, he was stationed in Bedford, England, and has an ongoing appreciation for life in the U.K. Janice Boyle is assistant chief probation officer with the Plymouth District Court. The Boyles have two young children and are frequent patrons of the British Beer Company pub in Cedarville where their winning contest entry was drawn. “It’s always great to be able to give something back to our customers. They devote so much of the energy and passion to the BBC and are a huge component of the pubs’ success, that it’s as rewarding to the BBC’s management to do something nice for them in return,” said Harry Gnong, one of the British Beer Company partners. “None of this would be possible without the great partners we have at L. Knife and Carlsberg, with whom we’ve developed a very strong relationship over the years.” In Great Britain, Ireland, and across Europe, the pub or “local” is the center of town life: a place to relax, refuel the body and spirit, share news and be entertained. The pubs and restaurants of the British Beer Company deliver that same atmosphere and service to Americans today. An eclectic menu, unparalleled beer and cocktail choices, and an array of music and entertainment nightly, make the British Beer Company the local destination for English pub-style fun, relaxation and refreshment. The British Beer Company restaurants and pubs can be found in Hyannis, Sandwich, Falmouth, Plymouth, Cedarville, Pembroke and Walpole with more on the way.
